I thought about these things when I dressed up in my velvet Ren Faire outfit this past weekend (coming in tonight's post). Is it a reflection of the times...or a reflection of the times it's borrowing
from or inspired by (the mid-90s). I'm not actually sure what the political landscape was in the US back then, but it was all grunge, metal and long flowy dresses (and bodycon!).
velvet + ren faire how timely! there have been quite a few medieval revivals (victorian era, mid-20th century, the '90s) and i find it fascinating that the gaps between them keep growing smaller. seems on par with the way tech + industrialization have sped up our world!
