Hello! How are you? Well rested and getting a bit of sun, I hope.
January felt like it might never end (derogatory), and despite more frigid temperatures still ahead (thanks a lot, Punxsutawney Phil), I’m feeling whispers of springtime in the air (probably delusion + Vitamin D supplements talking).
This month was all about staying cozy and avoiding the winter blues — these January repeats were some of the tools in my cold-weather toolbox.

Rewore:
I am proud to be an outfit repeater. This month, I gravitated toward warmth more than anything (shocker). My winter secret is that I always have a wool base layer on the bottom. I do not understand how anyone is able to raw dog jeans in freezing weather.
These Norrøna tights are my favorite. They’re lightweight, thin enough to slide under the majority of pants, and, most importantly to me, the band is much more comfortable than other brands (plus it looks cute poking out of jeans — kind of Miu Miu Fall ‘23 if you can see the vision.)
For top-half base layers, I love my Icebreaker merino wool thermals. Wool excels at regulating heat and adjusting for fluctuating temps, so they’re perfect under a puffer and hard shell while in the snow or with a thin sweater for a warmer night out.
Also on the topic of winter dressing, a bit of chartreuse may be the perfect antidote to a gloomy day. I can’t stop stealing these Baggu ribbed socks from my boyfriend’s drawer. They’re thick, cushy, and the pop of peach on the heel reminds me there are warmer days ahead.
I put them in my boyfriend’s stocking this year — I thought he needed some Prada green in his wardrobe — but he’s rarely been able to wear them so far because they’re always on my feet. Oops!
Reslathered:
A doctor once told me I had clinically dry skin. Not eczema, not a rash, just skin so dry it became clinical. As you might imagine, winter air is no friend of mine. I’ve been using the Nécessaire body lotion religiously this month (a gift from a friend who got it as PR), and it’s been keeping me sane.
It claims to be fragrance-free, and it’s not that I don’t believe them… but it smells nearly identical to Glossier Body Hero’s orange blossom neroli scent. I’m not complaining! It’s incredibly thick but still easy to rub in, and I feel like a plump little baby walking out of my steamy bathroom after a shower.
Relistened:
Dreamtina by
is my Winter in the City album. (It hits hard in the summer, too, of course.) Melancholic guitar just feels extra therapeutic when you’re braving skyscraper wind tunnels and road salt dust devils.Bonus: the album is just long enough for a good Vitamin-D-seeking stroll before your nose goes numb.
Replayed:
I played a lot of Rummikub over the New Year’s holiday. We played so much that my family got sick of the game and I started playing by myself, just switching between two sets of tiles pretending I didn’t know what the other set contained.
Sour Swedish fish and TJ’s chili lime tortilla chips make game night my preferred winter evening in.
Resnapped:
I captured great flower bouquets this month — none of which were in vases. A recurring theme in my January camera roll was flowers in unexpected places, which I’ll take as a wink that spring blooms are heading our way soon.
Here’s to a February of more flowers, more games, and less dry skin (not likely). And because I am utterly obsessed with the idea of what we keep going back to, I’d love nothing more than to hear your latest repeats!
What have you been rewearing? Reusing? Rewatching? Let’s discuss in the comments…
Reading this felt so cosy
Cheers to more flowers, games, and dewy skin!
I've been wearing silky REI base layers nonstop. The dry skin is such a challenge with indoor heating 🥺
