40+ Easy Pants That Aren't Jeans
Cottons, linens, and silks in all colors, textures, and silhouettes
The park is green. The sun is out. I’m dissociating into a hyperrealistic coastal cottage fantasy that involves easels, farm stand punnets of plump produce, and no internet connection. That’s my brain on one hit of summer weather.
A chief concern of this fantasy is the wardrobe (obviously) which requires a very specific sophisticated ease, and the piece I’ve been maniacally researching and trying on and secondhand hunting for is the easy pant.
This is a pant you wear in tall grass. It’s a pant that blows in the evening ocean breeze and pairs best with salty air-dried hair and an OOO email signature. The right easy pant is a bullseye dart on the dressy/casual/structured/relaxed chart. Comfy to lounge in, but the design is elevated enough to give you the option to dress up. It requires no thought to wear and works for any occasion. It’s easy. Duh.
Though I’ve been searching on-and-off high-and-low for years, I still haven’t chosen a perfect pair. And it will likely take me years longer given my track record for deciding on wardrobe staples.
My easy pant parameters:
A tie or elastic waist—nary a zipper or button in sight—for flexibility and comfort
Loose off the leg to maintain breeziness
Made with cozy materials, preferably cotton or linen to keep it cool
But all that research belongs somewhere—and given how much I’ve been thinking about them lately during this sunny spring, I’m guessing you might be on a similar hunt too. Here are 40+ good pairs on the market.
The Elastic Waist
Max relax, comfort-forward, slip-on-without-a-care.

The Tie-Waist

Love all of these! I have the Le Bon Shoppe leopard arc pants and wear them all the time. Another favorite is the Fashion Brand Company ruffle pantaloons, which I have in camo and fruit print! And I also have my eye on the LA Relaxed linen pants.
Just ordered the sonderhaus pants in red gingham 😋 makes me want a hot dog real bad!
