A Big Fat Juicy Fall Wishlist
Plush cashmere, slinky snakeskin, chunky accessories, and more.
Listen, I wasn’t going to write this… but the wishlist begged to be free! It’s practically spilling out of my notes app, what’s a girl to do.
Though it’s still summer, I’ve read so many iterations of “fall wishlist” type posts that I felt invigorated to wade through my own link slop mess and translate it into something legible. (Shoutout to
’s list specifically — she’s always reading my mind.)I’m very reliant on my notes app: if I don’t have it written down I will immediately forget it. These pieces are too good to forget. No matter how unrealistic (very, in this case), a wishlist helps me catalogue my thoughts and investigate my sartorial urges.
Delegating “remembering” to a list frees up necessary brain space and creates a desire diary of reference points.
Some of these will surely be on my fall wishlist next year too — I know that because many of them are leftover from last year’s list, and the year before, and probably the year before that too. I am a waiter when it comes to purchasing, and it regularly takes me a year or longer to actually commit to a purchase. No harm in taking your sweet sweet time.
Still Here Undershirt in Violet
I want to layer this under a heather grey long sleeve shirt soooo bad. I haven’t ventured into
tops yet, but I have an emotional attachment to my pairs of SH denim so I trust them with my life (and wardrobe). All Things Suede Fringe, Snakeskin, and Turquoise
Unsurprising, given how much we’ve been chatting about western references and autumnal desert tones lately. It took everything in me not to impulsively buy this suede fringe belt (I’m not making any promises that I won’t, but if you do please send me pics).
Chocolate suede jacket / Miss Sixty vintage fringe belt / Miu Miu pink suede skirt
A good pop of turquoise is what’s getting me out of bed right now. I’m feeling magnetically pulled toward bright blues: anything turquoise, aqua, or mint that serves as an electric contrast to the rest of the outfit. My go-tos in this category are turquoise rings passed down from my grandmothers.
I wore a turquoise belt with a coral cardigan to my 8th grade graduation, and I never thought I’d see the day when I was wishing I’d saved that skinny braided faux leather monstrosity. Life comes at you fast, huh.
I’ve also been trying to buy a pair of vintage Miu Miu snakeskin sandals on Poshmark for nearly the whole year but it seems the seller posted them and then vanished into oblivion. Just my luck!

Cashmere Sweaters
Apologies if you’re sick of me talking about the best cardigan in the world, but I’ll never stop. I bought this TOAST sweater in London (before their first U.S. store even opened, now they’ve got four in NYC) and it’s been practically glued to me since. It’s always on my mind that a second one would be a great investment — especially now that it just got chilly enough to throw on a sweater in the morning.
Tragically, this specific and perfect chartreuse-y Prada green shade hasn’t been brought back since, but their current colorways are very good too.
Also on my mind: the Tricot x Gil Rodriguez cardigan. I loooove the Tricot black crewneck I already own (technically it’s my partner’s, but I steal it enough to claim it as my own), and I was so close to purchasing this collab after trying it on at a pop-up last year. Also coveting the crewneck in brown.
I have a million vintage options saved on eBay, too, of course. This 100% cashmere minty polo is at the top of the watchlist.
Short-Sleeve Sweaters
As soon as the temp dips below 70 I need sweater-to-skin contact immediately. For fall, when the mornings call for a coat and the afternoons have you stripping layers on the train, a short-sleeve sweater is a perfect in-between.
Doen cotton cashmere tee (this color is everything to me) / Vintage ‘90s Versace 100% cashmere turtleneck / Vintage ‘60s yellow cashmere sweater / Nikki Chasin 100% cashmere button up sweater
Chunky Cuffs and Bangles
I’ve been dreaming of colorful and bejeweled hunks of plastic on my wrist. Preferably many stacked all at once. I’m not usually big on costume jewelry — more of a never-take-off-my-necklaces type of gal — but something about chunky acrylic bangles has me adding “lot” to every eBay search.

Isabella Vrana Hooked Top
I shared a pair of shorts from this label in my summer shorts index, but it’s this top that’s stuck in my mind as we transition into the next season. Slinky, sexy, wearable in a million different ways. I think she belongs in a very dimly lit bar with a martini in hand, and I’d like to take her there.
MAC Lip Pencil in Stone
A very lovely Glossier employee once told me my undertones were “neutral leaning cool” and thus he placed a spell on my FYP to serve me cool toned makeup tips for the rest of time. This lip pencil has been popping up on my screen for years — but there’s something about fall that makes me appreciate lip liner way more. Is this finally the season to try?
Swedish Stockings Brown Argyle Tights
These tights!! I almost bought argyle tights last fall, but if I’m being really honest with you, I hate the feeling of tights suctioned to my body so very much it makes me want to rip my skin off. Not a particularly wise investment.
But recently these came across my desk, and I don’t have enough argyle in my closet to match how much of a Harlequin core proponent I really am, and I’m trying to convince myself maybe this time it’ll be different…
Obnoxiously Large Round Sunglasses
I’m talking full Olsen twin, like, as big as will stay on my face. Unfortunately the width of my head precludes me from being able to buy glasses without trying them on first, so for now I’ll be hearting vintage Chloé on TRR with a small tear streaming down my cheek.
Bonnie Clyde Princessa sunnies / Prada wavy arm sunnies / Chloé blue sunnies / Miu Miu tan sunnies
Doublesoul Stripey Socks
This is kind of cheating because I’ve already ordered them lol. I succumbed to their Labor Day sale over the weekend while working on this letter. Sue me!
Doublesoul’s marketing has always fascinated me. They pick such interesting creators to collaborate with, I have to believe their team is extremely on the pulse. I’ll report back on the cushiness of the socks — I have high expectations.
Plaid, Plaid, and More Plaid
There’s never a time I’m not thinking about plaid. Plaid midi skirts are one of my hero pieces, but I’m of the firm belief that plaid belongs anywhere and everywhere. I really loved reading this piece by
recently, and it made me immediately revisit all the Harris Tweed on my eBay watchlist.Harris Tweed purse / Green mini skirt / Vintage swing coat
Military Jacket
I’m this close to going full 2016 and pulling out the green military jacket. In high school I had one from Old Navy that I wore to absolute threads, but in 2025, this Moschino Jeans version has my attention.
It’s vailable on Grailed here missing a button and once sold to someone luckier than I on TRR for $100. While I wait for that sort of luck to find me, I’m watching a dozen vintage Marc Jacobs military jackets on eBay.
Swedish Hasbeens Clogs
Is it crazy to say that the straw that broke the camel’s back in my years-long back-and-forth about these shoes was Molly Gordon in Theater Camp? I was enamored with her character’s towering wooden clogs and have been saving Swedish Hasbeens on secondhand sites with fervor all summer.
Croc embossed brown / Braided black / Snakeskin print / Leopard ponyhair
Aaaand that concludes today’s programming. I feel inclined to give a bit of a disclaimer to this list as someone whose shopping ethos does not include a belief that seasonal shopping is always good or necessary. You (and I) don’t need new clothes for fall.
Shopping doesn’t have to equal buying, though. My window shopping philosophy is that it can be an important exercise in developing our own taste and eye for brilliance — so develop away! Maybe a couple things from this list will end up in my closet, maybe zero will. Maybe I’ll win the lottery and buy out eBay’s stock of snakeskin Miu Miu (a girl can dream). For now, I’ll just keep writing it all down.
Find me on Insta here, send me a note at mackinley@yeehawt.com, or reply to this email to keep the convo going. Talk soon! xx
